The anticipation is building for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and this morning Team Canada announced their leadership for the mens hockey team. To nobody’s surprise, Sidney Crosby will be captain, but wearing the “A” (or is it “Eh”?) as alternate captains will be Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber, and Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.

Weber played a huge role on Canada’s 2010 gold medal-winning squad, being named to the tournament’s All-Star team by the assembled media in Vancouver. He’s enjoying a strong season currently for Nashville, and will surely welcome the competitive challenge that comes with the Olympics.
