The Admirals lost another player to Europe today and have seen their Joonas count go from two to zero. Joonas Jarvinen has reportedly signed a contract with the Sochi Leopards, an expansion franchise in the KHL. Jarvinen played 54 games with Milwaukee this season, totaling four goals and eight assists.
The 25-year-old defenseman was a free agent signing by Nashville in 2012 and played two seasons in Milwaukee, never earning a call-up to the NHL.
With the move another spot has been freed up on the defense, a unit that will be with some new faces next season. If Jarvinen had stayed in North America, he would have been a restricted free agent. Jarvinen is the second player the Admirals have lost to Europe, as Joonas Rask signed in Finland last week.
