Sunday's Dump & Chase: So Far, So Good For The Preds: What's Next?

Whatever your opinion of the James Neal trade, or the (player blocked) attempt to acquire Jason Spezza, it's clear this team is taking serious steps to improve the offense. And not in the "goals by committee" way they did last year, but by going after proven, elite talent. I'm more encouraged than I've been in recent memory that the Preds will in fact land another quality offensive player. Who will that be? It's tough to say at this point, but I believe David Poile finally understands the problem and has the right coach to fix it. Getting that last piece may require saying goodbye to someone we really like. It may require "overpaying" someone. It may require us to root for a guy we used to think was The Worst. I can handle all of these things. What I can't handle is sitting through another season of 2-1 losses. Whatever it takes to fix that problem is fine by me.

James Neal deal could help Predators in free agency-The Tennessean

That's certainly the hope. Whoever signs here won't have to be the first guy.

I'm going to rule it out.

Why? They want too much money, IMO. Trade 'em (to the Eastern Conference) while they still have some value.
