Simon Moser to start with SC Bern, is eligible to sign NHL contract until Nov. 15

The Swiss Olympian will start the season in his native land.

Before I even had a chance to put on a pot of coffee this morning, the handy The Score app keyed me in to a minor offseason development for the Predators:

Current RFA Simon Moser will start the season with with SC Bern in Switzerland. The contract does have an NHL out-clause. Should the two sides come to a deal before November 15, Moser can immediately leave for North America.

This isn't the biggest of problems for the Preds. Moser would have likely spent much of his time in AHL Milwaukee, except for a few cups of coffee in the NHL as an injury replacement. The prospect depth chart his still pretty stacked. The Predators shouldn't break their backs to sign him, especially after he already rejected their qualifying offer.

Moser played six games in the big leagues last year, recording a goal and an assist.
