The Washington Capitals just shut out the Philadelphia Flyers tonight, thanks to Braden Holtby's 21-save shutout. For some reason, many of the questions asked to Barry Trotz in the postgame presser were about Friday's game.
A rather intriguing piece of information made its way over the Twittersphere during that time. From Alex Prewitt, Capitals' beat writer for The Washington Post:
Trotz just said he thinks Pekka Rinne will be out "a couple weeks."

As we all know, Pekka Rinne left Tuesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks with an apparent lower body injury. When asked if he gave any further clarification, Prewitt responded:
@OnTheForecheck He just dropped it into a scouting report of Nashville. That's all he said.

Why does Barry Trotz think this, and where does he get his information? Well, aside from the obvious, Trotz was on record of speaking to Nashville's general manager David Poile earlier.
Barry Trotz spoke to David Poile today. David told Barry, "Beat the Flyers. I used to hate them."

The Predators have already announced that they will reevaluate Rinne tomorrow. It can't come too soon, especially for fans concerned about the longterm implications it may have on the team. Nashville plays a back-to-back this weekend, at home against Washington on Friday before flying to Detroit on Saturday.
