Thursday's Dump & Chase: Catch 3-on-3

New, comments

The NHL is rolling the dice and trying a 3-on-3 tournament for the All-Star Game format. But it comes at the expense of the (drunk) fantasy draft. The 3-on-3 tournament could be cool, could be boring as the lifeless games they usually play. It's already received mixed reactions from the players. But the fantasy draft was everything the NHL wants the Award Show to be. So it's strange the league is aware enough to know there is a need for a format change but isn't continuing what has worked and been mostly praised among the media and fans. For me, the middle ground is to let the players drink as much as they want during the skills competition and let an intoxicated Johnny Gaudrea light his stick on fire for the trick shot competition.
