Thursday's Dump & Chase: Bring the Hate

New, comments

Yesterday I dropped a big ol' rant into the Dump & Chase. Why? I knew it would be read, and knew it would catch people by surprise. Truth be told, I'm glad it went over well with the audience here. But tonight is game night, and we can only hope we see a motivated hockey team play against a team that's been going through the same funk as Nashville for most of the year: St. Louis.

Honestly, Columbus is killing the value of Ryan Johansen. If Nashville is sending off Jones, they better be expecting plenty in return. Now a package built around Ellis would be swell, and likely benefit both sides.

This was posted after the CBJ's L to the Stars. Check out this tidbit:

Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen played a lethargic first two periods. Many of his passes were way off-line, and there were several neutral-zone turnovers and failed clearing attempts. I've seen suburbanites skate harder on the Columbus Zoo's holiday pond.

No surprise, then, that Johansen was benched for the third period, playing a season-low 11:03. "Coach's decision," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said. He declined to elaborate.

Keep on killing that trade value.
