Friday's Dump & Chase: Track Suits

New, comments

There has been a significant amount of hullabaloo over Evander Kane's tardiness and track suit. Winnipeg seems to be in a constant holding pattern with Kane and it begs the obvious question: which Predators would look best in a track suit? Something tells me Craig Smith, with that glorious hair, could get into a Governor's Ball wearing a black track suit. But what I really want to see is Olli Jokinen and Anton Volchenkov in matching powder blue Run DMC track suits. Hats and all. Honorable track suit mentions: Roman Josi, Kevin McCarthy in a brown track suit, and Carter Hutton wearing one during bench interviews.

Nashville Predators News

Preds begin extension talks with Fisher, Ribeiro | ProHockeyTalk
While reading this my chest started to feel tight and it was tough to breath. The Preds will have lots of money coming off the books after the season so I hope Poile isn't feeling too generous. They'll have to resign some pretty good young players in two/three years from now. Still, Ribeiro and Fisher have earned new contracts. The amount is the tricky part.

Looks as if he may not play on that good team soon afterall. I added this as well because Elliotte Friedman offers great insight.

Sami Vatanen, Rickard Rakell boost Anaheim's depth for playoff push | Puck Daddy
If the Ducks do call Rickard Rakell "Ricky Ricardo" in the locker room then I am disappointed. MoonRaker (yes, I know it was an awful movie), Captain Jean-Luc Rickard, and Rakell the Chef (more of a reach) are better choices. If the Ducks are settling for Ricky Ricardo, I hope at the very least they call him "Babalu" instead.

In praise of Steve Mason | ProHockeyTalk
I don't squander chances to poke fun at the Flyers or Mason, but Mason has been good. And good for him for trying to pull his career together again. Step two is getting out of Philadelphia.
