These games have been stressful. And if you're like me, you've been pounding the table, screaming, crying, firing stuff across the room, shooting your television, etc. Not healthy. Sure, it's understandable to see stuff like this:

One was a non-call. The other wasn't. Guess which one. https://t.co/30Qmt16e9u— On The Forecheck (@OnTheForecheck) April 16, 2015

But we can't. We're in for at least a couple more games here, and we need to find some emotional balance if we're gonna get through it. So let's take a look at some common relaxation tips that we can implement into our own lives.
This one is easy...you literally just sit there and do nothing. If you're at work and feeling a little stressed about tonight's game, just make sure you're meditating in front of your computer. It'll look like you're working and probably nobody will know the difference.
They say laughter is the best medicine, so find something funny and watch it over and over and over again.
Take your dog for a walk. Hit the treadmill for a run. Lift some weights. Tape a picture to a heavy bag and punch it over and over and over again until there's absolutely no way you can punch even one more punch. Any of these are guaranteed to lower your stress to more manageable levels.
(In case you need a picture)
3. Breathing Exercises
You've been hyperventilating, and that's not good. You've got to control your breathing a little bit better so you can remain conscious until the end of the game. You'll want to close your office door or go out to the car to do this one because you'll look like a lunatic...but it does work.
4. Alcohol Consumption
This one is actually not true. Sure, alcohol is a depressant and whiskey tastes good, but it will NOT reduce your stress level. Trust me, I know. You're actually much more likely to become angry and do something really, really stupid. Just stick to a nice non-caffinated drink, or better yet, water.
So there you have it, folks. Just a couple of quick and easy recommendations to help ease the stress of the next few days. Have something that works for you? Share it in the comments below!
