Saturday's Dump & Chase: Get Well Soon, Denna Laing

New, comments

I was going to feature Ryan Johansen's B-E-A-Utiful debut in this Dump and Chase but quite frankly there are much more important things in life than hockey. Last week in the Outdoor Women's Classic, Denna Laing of the Boston Blades was hit into the boards and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. She is still in the hospital and has limited feeling in her arms and no feelings in her legs. Please join On the Forecheck and the rest of the hockey community in sending your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, etc. to Denna and her family as they go through this difficult time.

You've probably seen this plenty of times but just in case you wanted to watch it again...

On another note, with the absence of Seth Jones the Predators might have a hole to fill on the third right defenseman spot. If Bitetto and/or Granberg don't step up there will be a move to be made.

Nashville News & Notes

Avalanche top Predators; Johansen scores in debut | NHL.com
As fun as it was to watch Johansen finally do his thing in a Predators uniform, the fact that Nashville gave up a very key two points to the Avalanche (who they are now tied with in the standings) is very disappointing. The Predators need to start winning and tonight's game against Phoenix would be a good start. K? Thnx.

Alden Hirschfeld Suffers Seizure; Ads lose 4-2 | Admirals Roundtable
Max Gortz put up another assist last night but also had a turnover that led directly to a goal in a disappointing Admirals loss. None of that really mattered, though, in the grand scheme of things considering the scary medical situation that unfolded at the Grand Rapids Griffins bench where Hirschfeld suffered a seizure and was carted out of the rink.
