Perspective on the Predators Slow Start
I buy the locker room and possession explanations, but this "tough schedule" explanation never sticks with me. Any NHL team should be able to play the schedule they have without the schedule itself being a factor.

Preds Practice Ponderings: October 31
Again, Arvidsson is right at the top of best performing Predators right now. Also, can we agree that it's "Arvy" and not "Arvi"?

No games were on the docket last night... bummer.

WATCH: Senators' Craig Anderson shuts out Oilers after wife's cancer diagnosis - CBSSports.com
Really powerful moment here. Days after finding out about his wife's cancer diagnosis, Craig Anderson gets a shutout victory in Edmonton. After the game, he... well, just watch.

Matthews vs. McDavid: Will this be the NHL's next great rivalry? - NHL on CBC Sports - Hockey news, opinion, scores, stats, standings
Rivalry? I don't know. Being in separate conferences doesn't help stoke a rivalry. Also, I'd like to see more unique rivalries emerge from this current class of young stars. I want to see a couple young defensemen like Shayne Gostisbehere and Aaron Ekblad duke it out in the East for a decade. I want to see a solid goaltending rivalry emerge somewhere. Two excellent young forwards that are just better than everyone else doesn't necessarily call for a rivalry.

Ales Hemsky of Stars expected to miss 5-6 months
Wow, add another one to the list of Stars injuries, which includes Janmark, Eakin, Sharp and Spezza. Also, a torn labrum in your hip? I didn't know hips had labrums.

Matt Beleskey, Jimmy Hayes and an epically bad start
They've both gone pointless and yet the Bruins are 4-4-0. I guess when you have Patrice Bergeron, all things are possible.

Tampa Bay Lightning's Jon Cooper on Losing Streak: 'This Is a Test'
"If you had parked the bus up to the arena, our whole team got into all the passenger seats and no one got into the driver’s seat and when that happens, it’s not going to be good,"Cooper said.

OR it's an Uber.

Much Ado About Defense - Winging It In Motown
A good run down of all the defensive happenings (and non happenings) up in Detroit.

Three Life Lessons Carey Price Has Taught Us
Interesting that the evidence for "professional athletes being people" is that Carey Price once lost a dog that was then returned to him. I would think that is more evidence of professional athletes being celebrities.
