Pavel Datsyuk announced his retirement from the NHL on Saturday, as expected. The future of his cap hit is still very much in the air, though. That's a crippling amount of dead cap space, but the Red Wings would have to move decent assets in exchange for getting it off their books for just one season. Maybe Poile can work some magic.
