Tuesday’s Dump & Chase: Is it hockey yet?

I’m glad the boys are getting a break. However when Nashville Predators’ hockey isn’t on, my husband gets to pick the TV shows.

Smashville News:

Preds Give Rave Reviews of Garth Brooks Concert | Nashville Predators
I love to see the team doing things together. Wish I could see one of these shows. I've seen Trisha, but Garth is still on the bucket list.

Preds Recall Juuse Saros, Assign Anders Lindback | Nashville Predators
What a bummer. In Milwaukee just long enough to miss the team Christmas party and the Garth Brooks concert. Someone is a Grinch.

Predators: Kyle Turris leaves practice, Ryan Johansen participates | Tennessean
Why can't we have all of our nice things at once? Be okay, Kyle Turris.

NHL Power Rankings: The Predators are starting to roll | Yahoo Sports
A little GMDP roster building love. Adam thinks we have gotten better since the SCF (we have) and will only get better as injuries clear (you bet).

My apologies, but there are no new Doug and Dozer photos this week. How about this?

Central Division News:

Minnesota Wild in danger of drifting into irrelevance | Twin Cities Pioneer Press
We could only hope. Seriously though, they must have read this article because they won the first two games of their Western road trip.

Jets' Byfuglien week-to-week with lower-body injury | Sportsnet.ca
“Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, according to head coach Paul Maurice.” Seems like Big Buff is still searching for his scoring touch this year - zero goals so far.

Nail Yakupov scratched for second consecutive game by Avalanche | The Denver Post
Wasn’t everyone just saying what a good pickup this was? This kid is a roller coaster - who can help him up the hill?

NHL Power Rankings: Capitals, Predators keep rising, but Tampa Bay is still No. 1 | CBSSports.com
Mr. Benjamin is calling the President's Trophy race over less than half way through the season. (In light of Steven Stamkos' injury history it could be a little early.) There were more of these to post, but the bottom line is that we seem to be the consensus number four.

Super Slo-mo: Week 9 | NHL.com
Hello Pekka Rinne! Hello Cody McCleod (ouchie) and someone whose number I can't see (ouchie)! Hello Filip Forsberg, P.K. Subban and someone whose number I can't see! Hello large group of Nashville Predators standing around while Pekka Rinne saves their bacon! There is a higher goalie save percentage in this week's edition.

Gretzky feels McDavid's pain after Oilers loss to Maple Leafs | NHL.com
On the one hand Wayne Gretzky is right about hockey being a team sport. Also, I feel sad for the scrutiny Connor McDavid is under. On the other hand, if you are going to command the highest salary in hockey you are expected to carry an additional load on the ice.

How small, tactical changes revived the Flyers from losing streak | USAToday
"The Flyers swept their three-game Western Canada swing after a 10-game losing streak." Actually, I am taking some credit for this. Last Tuesday, I posted about their losing streak and such - then they go on a winning streak! Clearly I am a master motivator, lol.

NHL - Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin are unlike any other siblings in sports history | espn.com
This starts out a little light, but ends as a pretty interesting read. It's hard to believe Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin are 37. I really hope they either get re-signed in Vancouver or retire next year. They just wouldn't look right in a different uniform. Plus could they stay together as UFA's? (I'm sure it would be one of their conditions.)
