Preds Confident in Preparations as First Back-to-Back Set Arrives
A lot of this article is just praise for the Nashville Predators goalie tandem of Pekka Rinne and Juuse Saros. The question on my mind is who starts which game? The Predators have a win streak going on against the Edmonton Oilers, so it seems Rinne would be a natural fit for this. Couple that with the fact that Connor McDavid's magic wand doesn't really work against Rinne like it does against other goalies and it seems like a sure thing. Of course Rinne may be seeking retribution for the home opener loss to the Calgary Flames. The smart move, I think, it to start Juuse Saros on Friday and Pekka Rinne for Saturday.

Wickenheiser, Pegula reflect NHL’s trend toward diversity – ProHockeyTalk
I think what really strikes me in all of this is that half of these diversity moves, while they involve women, really just involve wealthy people who happen to be women. I’m more impressed by Wickenheiser’s hiring than I am Pegula’s “hiring”. I'd like to see diversity at all levels, not just at the "buy your way in" level.

Skills Aren't Enough | By Adam Oates
Adam Oates is running a different kind of training facility. Look, I'm not going to act like I participate in enough contact activities to know the ins and outs of absorbing and avoiding dangerous hits, but it seems like what he's selling works.

What Tyler Seguin can teach us about William Nylander - TheHockeyNews
I remember the Tyler Seguin saga, but the whole William Nylander situation seems a little bit more contentious and quite a bit messier.

Meet Eamon McAdam, the Maple Leafs' surprise emergency goalie - Sportsnet.ca
This is no Scott Foster story, but for Eamon McAdam, things escalated pretty quickly.

William Nylander practising this week with Austrian hockey team - Sportsnet.ca
Glad to see William Nylander is staying fresh and loose so he'll be ready to play for the Nashville Predators soon.

Red Wings GM Holland isn’t ‘looking over his shoulder’ regarding Yzerman – ProHockeyTalk
Yeah, but you're not Steve Yzerman...

Maple Leafs’ Auston Matthews on Tavares, learning to win (PHT Q&A) – ProHockeyTalk
Auston Matthews seems to like John Tavares. At least, everyone keeps making it necessary for him to repeat it. However, I love the fact that Matthews pretended to have been awake for hours when his GM called and woke him up on a weekend to tell him about the signing.

MacKinnon stays hungry for Avalanche after setting goal-streak mark
Nathan MacKinnon is a pretty likable guy. I was always worried when he was on the ice in the playoffs last season. Hey, there's also some love for Samuel Girard in here as well.
