Nashville Predators 5, Ottawa Senators 2: Arvidsson Scores Twice, Preds Bounce Back | On the Forecheck
"The Preds vented their hockey frustrations tonight. Boy, did they need a game like this." Alex Daugherty reviews last night's game. It felt awesome to shake off the last couple of games. Let’s keep it going!

Predators Mailbag: What Is With This Team's Inconsistent Power Play? | A to Z Sports
"The Nashville Predators have been both inconsistent during even strength and the power play as of late and we dissect why that is in this week's mailbag." I'm not sure it's because we've "played a lot of hockey" since they’ve had multiple long breaks in the last six weeks. But I guess if anyone knew what the cause was (versus symptoms), it would be fixed by now.

Curling at Ford Ice Center | NHL.com
"Terry Crisp turns Maverick and GNASH into curling professionals after their first session at Ford Ice Center." Can't recall if this was already posted, but it is a bunch of fun.

This is adorable, but I worry about Doug. Where are his snuggles?

Kempny traded to Capitals by Blackhawks | NHL.com
"Defenseman Michal Kempny was traded to the Washington Capitals on Monday by the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional third-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft." Are the Hawks having a sale? If so, may we have Brandon Saad with some salary retained?

This seems a low price to me, but I am not complaining. We will see a different goalie tonight.

Puck, player tracking tested at Olympics. Is NHL next? | TribLIVE
I can see this being an issue for the NHLPA for some time before it ever comes to the NHL. I sure would like a peek at a week's worth of data though. The day this becomes reality, we've probably seen the last of a certain female statistician as she disappears down the rabbit hole.

Super Slo-mo: Week 19 | NHL.com
This is worth a look for the just the early hit on Brad Marchand and the Erik Karlsson eye roll near the end. Some pretty great saves in here too. Hey Pekka Rinne - nice glove! Hi Filip Forsberg - nice penalty shot!

Stop using Corsi to assess NHL teams. There are better stats available. | The Washington Post
"A groundbreaking hockey stat is now obsolete." Okay, I admit I clipped this just to start a "discussion". Then, I got sucked in. I am still pondering the part about the influence on Corsi of the repeated futile shot attempts from the point. (Is this why our Corsi is high?) I may have to re-read this - or hopefully just read your comments below.

Chris Chelios is still contributing to U.S. men's hockey | Los Angeles Times
"No American has been part of more of these five-ring adventures than the guy who attended that hockey hotbed of Mira Mesa High in San Diego." I wasn't watching a lot of hockey in 1998, so I missed the Japan living quarters debacle. Interesting piece - I want to get his book - there are not enough hockey books.

Postma's best friend, two-year-old dog Copper, attends Bruins practice | NHL.com
As you all know, I am a sucker for big strong men and goofy dogs. This is a feel good story and I believe Copper to be a Bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle).
