Monday’s Dump and Chase: Pressing Forward

New, comments

Sunday’s win was fun. The Preds end February and begin March on a four-game road trip. Oh, and some Predators trade news.

The Tennessean

Sunday saw a 4-0 shutout against the St. Louis Blues (before 2 pm), a three-way Pontus Aberg trade with Edmonton and Columbus, and some added depth for the Milwaukee Admirals.

The only thing Nashville needs to do is get Mike Fisher signed today. Sit back, sign the beautiful Mr. Underwood, and relax. I need to study for my CEH exam, so please don’t do anything too insane before the trade deadline, Mr. Poile.

First, take a look at these beautiful highlights:

Predators Acquire Bollig, Grosenick from Sharks
The Preds made another AHL-level move with the San Jose Sharks, acquiring forward Brandon Bollig and goaltender Troy Grosenick. Both will add depth to the Admirals, and Grosenick will likely be a solid backup for Anders Lindback in Milwaukee.

I still think it's crazy that Nashville has emerged as a team in conversation for Erik Karlsson, although it might just be David Poile performing more wizardry to keep Karlsson away from Central/Western teams.

Not only did the Toronto Maple Leafs address their biggest need by prying serviceable centre Tomas Plekanec out of Montreal, they left themselves room to do more work ahead of the trade deadline. Toronto seems to be going for it.

Have a great week, folks.
