The news on Calle Jarnkrok is as we feared. News on his injury dropped from the Preds front office this afternoon:
Predators forward Calle Jarnkrok will miss the remainder of the regular season with an upper-body injury.
Jarnkrok was injured during Tuesday night’s 3-1 win against Winnipeg. The 26-year-old has 16 goals and 35 points in 68 games this season.
The Predators have 13 games remaining in the regular season and begin a three-game road trip tonight in Arizona against the Coyotes (9 p.m. CT).
As per usual, the generic “upper-body injury” is being used, which could mean a lot of things. But it definitely seemed like a shoulder and he was reportedly wearing a sling after the game on Tuesday.
It’s worth nothing that the Preds are saying he is out for the “remainder of the regular season” which implies it is not a multi-month injury. If he can return for the playoffs, that would be huge.
Until then, the Preds will rely on the depth they spent the last few months acquiring.
