20th Season: Timonen was Preds First Great Defenseman | NHL.com
Nice summary of Kimmo Timonen's time with the Nashville Predators. I learned a lot about his time here that I never knew. Glad he got his cup!

No Doug and Dozer today. Something even prettier. Apparently not only is there a group of Predators Partners having babies at the same time, there is also a group getting married who just had a group wedding shower. From left to right the soon-to-be Mrs: Roman Josi, Craig Smith, Ryan Ellis, Viktor Arvidsson and Anthony Bitetto.

Bouwmeester out for season for Blues with hip injury | NHL.com
Double ouch. Apparently Jay Bouwmeester took the Shea Weber approach to an injury requiring surgery. Perhaps the St Louis Blues were correct in giving up early.

Now? Now? Less than twenty games left in the season and NOW they are worried about Duncan Keith?

So it seems that Minnesota is going with #grit. Let's hope someone else has them in the playoffs or one of Fish/Watson will have to answer the bell.

NHL Award Watch update | espn.com
I usually like Greg's pieces but come on. P.K. Subban's numbers “put him right there” for the Norris, but Victor Hedman will win because he was the leader at the halfway vote and because "Others have better cases, but there has always been an inevitability to Hedman's candidacy that's impossible to ignore now.". Seriously? Maybe other people should be voting for these awards. You know, the ones who consider the actual cases? (I am not saying Hedman doesn’t deserve it, but that the above is not a good enough reason.)

Pacioretty out 4-6 weeks for Canadiens | NHL.com
The Canadians are broken. Yet you've got to believe there is some relief in this for Max Pacioretty. Missing 4-6 weeks is basically the rest of the season. Maybe he can get a break from the media fishbowl.

Predators, Jets thriller a reminder of broken NHL playoff format | Sporting News
I was following along just fine with this article until the conclusion. No, just no. How would conference winners be decided? Who cares about cross conference games early in the playoffs. I would like to see some changes to the current system so that fewer of the top teams play each other in the opening rounds.
