Saturday’s Dump & Chase: Bless Their Hearts

Filip Forsberg stole the show, but Matt Irwin showed up to play Big Boy Hockey, and “legitimate” journalists for “real” newspapers are out in full force. Don’t feed the trolls!

Three Thoughts: Forsberg Helps Preds Take Game 1
Filip Forsberg wasn't the only contributor, but his contributions were certainly the most noticeable. What else went right Thursday night?

Watson's two-way game invaluable for Predators in playoffs
...and he was part of the solution to the Nathan MacKinnon problem.

Predators vs Avalanche: Nashville, Forsberg balanced in NHL playoffs
As the season has gone by and the points have piled up across the NHL, I feel like we've all been saying this. We don't have a 100 point-scorer, but we have a boatload of scorers. I feel like that outweighs one, or even two, point producers. It should keep paying dividends.

Predators vs Avalanche: Why Ryan Johansen wasn't suspended for hit
A very well-written piece of sports journalism from a professional sports journalist investigating an on-ice incident involving Ryan Johansen and Tyson Barrie. Writers from Denver should take note of how to write a quality article.

Predators vs. Avalanche: Post columnist takes swipe at Nashville
This Denver Post guy even had jokes for me on Twitter. Realistically, we are going to encounter "professional" writers who just want you to click on their article. Incredibly moving piece on the Humboldt tragedy.

Punishment for hits to head prevalent early in NHL playoffs
A run down of the very topical and multiple head-related incidents thus far.

Everyone’s still upset with NHL Department of Player Safety – ProHockeyTalk
Although Drew Doughty was the one that got beat on all night, he's the one that wound up with a suspension. Sure seems like the Las Vegas Golden Knights were successful at targeting him because they didn't even have to worry about him last night. Of course, Nazem Kadri is lucky he didn't kill Wingels. But Colorado's outrage over the Johansen/Barrie incident looks largely ridiculous even in the light of day.
