In search of a worthy Avalanche fan to interview for this podcast, I stumbled upon the Avs Hockey Podcast (@AvsPodcast). Turns out Jay Vean and crew have been operating a podcast about the Avs for 10 years now.

Dang!

So I had him on the show to discuss the upcoming playoff match-up between the Predators and the Avs. It was a great discussion, including:

  • The Avs-Blues clincher was quite an event for Avs fans, who have been through a rather horrible few years.
  • Nathan Mackinnon, clearly the Avs best player. As he goes, the Avs go.
  • (But please do not ignore Mikko Rantanen, he is quite good at hockey)
  • Some other forwards to keep an eye on, like Carl Soderberg and Matt Nieto.
  • Which is the bigger loss: Erik Johnson or Semyon Varlamov?
  • Will we see the Hamburgler???
  • Alex gives a brief and probably inaccurate history of Playoff Colin Wilson
  • A nerd session about jerseys and hockey cards.
