Tuesday’s Dump & Chase: Summer Fun Day

Warning: To those few who hate me posting “light” pieces or pictures of cute humans and even cuter dogs, please move directly to the comments to discuss the appropriate trade for Ellis or College Football. I feel like having fun today!

Smashville News:

Predators to Appear 12 Times on NBC Networks, National TV |
"After seeing a record seven games on national television last season, the Predators have obliterated the number once more and are set to appear on the networks of NBC for 12 games in 2018-19." Things I do not understand: Why are we finishing with three Minnesota games? and Why, after last years’ games, is there no Winnipeg game?

Predators Only Team With Three Defensemen in NHLN's Top 20 List |
I hate to whine with our embarrassment of defensive riches, but where is Mattias Ekholm? Goal scoring shouldn't be everything for top D selections. Also, a few of these strike me more as future potential than "right now".

Preds CEO Sean Henry on Bridgestone Arena improvements |
""When we score a goal this year, it's going to be a little more fun around that glass," said Henry. "Of course, when you have 17,000 people singing in unison and then talking about the other goalie's abilities, that's a lot of fun."" Also, does he mean they will provide free jersey dry cleaning?

Real Town in Tennessee? |
Mattias Ekholm and Viktor Arvidsson obviously invested in Tennesweden. Pekka Rinne and Ryan Ellis, pretty good job. Yannick Weber - not so much. Nice to see Freddy Gaudreau there!

Hey! The pups are back! My mind is blown at dogs walking in the woods with no leash. I’ve never owned one of those.

Also, I have fallen in love with Juni Jarnkrok every since her first baby photo. This picture however is one of the best Predators’ posts all summer.

Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane to play in Stars and Stripes Showdown | Second City Hockey
Does anyone feel like there have been a bunch more of these games/tournaments than usual?

Q&A: Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar | ProHockeyTalk
Some good information here from Jared Bednar and the answer to the goalie split shows he sure has mastered coach-speak.

Jets fans getting excited about Connor, Roslovic | TSN
Well they can score, I'll give them that. They may have one or two other things to work on though......

Your 2018-19 NHL on NBC TV schedule | ProHockeyTalk
Here is the full list and press release. I still don't understand why a Nashville Predators vs Winnipeg Jets game wasn't a priority. Watching the Minnesota Wild is like watching ice freeze (see what I did there?).

#NHLTopPlayers: Top 20 Defensemen |
The full list for your debate. How is Zach Werenski better than Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis “right now”.

Barzal, Islanders have bright future, Trottier says |
No pressure Mathew Barzal, no pressure at all.

Puck Personality: Favorite Pet |
Dogs win at 25 out of 28. We had a player choose a panther (what??) and a non-player choose a hamster. Obviously they needed Scott Hartnell to represent cats. Oh and by the way, Patrick Kane very definitively chose "No Pets!". That explains a lot right there.

What’s in a name? For Seattle’s future NHL team, more than meets the Sock-eye | The Seattle Times
I kind of like the Seattle Cascade, like the Minnesota Wild. What would the mascot be though? And do we really need a big old Sammy Salmon mascot in the league?

Super Slow Mo: Best Dangles |
Ooooh Filip Forsberg - Hot! Fil again - you beast! Actually since these are all goals, I was happy not to see (unless I missed it) either Pekka Rinne or Juuse Saros in this video.

Chabot hopes Karlsson stays with Senators |
Awwwwwe, you keep hoping sweetie.
