The All-Star Game rosters have been released, and Pekka Rinne and Roman Josi will be representing the Predators in San Jose. The “Last Men In” vote may allow Filip Forsberg to join them, if enough people vote for him. Fan voting starts tomorrow at 11 AM Central at nhl.com/vote.
Pekka Rinne has a .920 sv% and a 2.25 goals-against average. He has also consistently been among the Preds’ better players this season. This is a well-deserved nomination for him.
Roman Josi is second on the team in points, with 29, and has also been consistently helping to drive the Predators’ offense, especially with so many forwards out at various points this season.
It’s a little surprising not to see Ryan Johansen get any attention, but not that surprising—the Central Division is full of much flashier center talent. Forsberg, whose 14 goals still lead the Preds despite his having missed almost half the season, is an obvious and exciting choice if he gets in.
