I was surprised to realize that the Predators haven’t beaten the Coyotes this season. They’ve dropped both contests on the road to the League-middling Coyotes.
It seems that Kyle Turris could rejoin the lineup this week. He skated Monday in a regular jersey and was taking line rushes. This is good news for the Predators.
In other practice-related news, the Predators spent a majority of their practice working on the power play. Simply put, it’s been a disaster. The Preds can’t buy a goal on the power play right now.
The Coyotes are on the second half of a back-to-back. They’re led in points by young Clayton Keller with 35 (11 goals, 24 assists). Oliver Ekman-Larsson leads Coyotes defenders with 26 points (6 goals, 20 assists). Alex Galchenyuk has 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists) and Derek Stepan has 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists).
With starting netminder Antti Raanta out for the season, Calvin Pickard and Darcy Kuemper have shouldered the load in net. Kuemper has a .914 Sv% over 27 games. Young Adin Hill started plenty of games for the Coyotes this season, but he’s been returned to the AHL Roadrunners.
The Coyotes have been hit hard with injuries this season. Aside from Raanta, Nick Schmaltz, Jakob Chychrun, Brad Richardson, Michael Grabner, Jason Demers, and Christian Dvorak are also sidelined with various injuries.
Memories and Feelings
- Stop playing like a mediocre team. Thanks.
- Figure out how to score on the power play!!! It’s beyond annoying/irritating/frustrating.
Reasons to Watch
- It’s Pride Night!
- Juuse Saros’s golden pads are a good reason to watch. Don’t look too long or you’ll go blind!
Yotes Social Media
- @Five4Howling: The Coyotes’ SB Nation site is Five For Howling.
Tonight’s Theme Song
I have run out of ideas for theme songs. I’m accepting music recommendations below.
Tonight’s Drink of Choice
It’s weirdly warm outside, so crack something crisp and refreshing like a cider. The rose by Angry Orchard is a good choice.
How to Watch
Tonight’s game is at the usual time of 7 Central. FS-TN has the broadcast and 102.5 The Game has the radio call.
