Predators Reassign Eight to Milwaukee | NHL.com
'Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down...
First they got our hopes up by recalling a bunch of the promising young players sent down to Milwaukee for the last game of the regular season, then they...sent them all straight back down again.
*All players who were on waivers yesterday cleared.— CapFriendly (@CapFriendly) September 28, 2019
The following players have been placed on waivers for Sat, Sep 28
The Preds still have 24 players on the NHL roster regardless of whether those two clear waivers, and will have to cut one (probably a forward, given previous years) before opening night, which means we are guaranteed the opportunity to see at least three and probably all four of Steven Santini, Dan Hamhuis, Yannick Weber, and Matt Irwin.

Mark Letestu’s mid-game mustard snack is gross, engrossing | ProHockeyTalk
It's a weird and probably biologically ineffective way to treat cramps, but I'm also boggling a bit at the idea that yellow mustard tastes like anything except yellow. (You say yellow isn't a flavor, I say grape anything tastes like purple and yellow mustard tastes like yellow.) I have no spice tolerance, but that stuff isn't actually spicy, people.
Cap Comparables: Connor, Rantanen opt for long-term deals | Sportsnet.ca
Kyle Dubas's inability or reluctance to repeat the William Nylander drama with Auston Matthews and later Mitch Marner is, of course, the real story about how Patrik Laine, Kyle Connor, and Mikko Rantanen all have contracts now. Kudos to Marc Bergevin for taking care of Sebastian Aho's early.
the whole market was waiting on marner and when he finally signed the rest of the teams just went "yeah we're not doing that" and the rest of the players and agents just went "ok cool that's fine"— Alan (@loserpoints) September 28, 2019
Nightmare of Niederreiter trade lingers as Rask struggles to earn Wild spot | ProHockeyTalk
There was a joke, which I thought was by Dave Lozo and on Twitter but have spent ten minutes searching for in vain, about Peter Chiarelli calling up Ray Shero and saying, "I want Adam Larsson," and Shero responding, in jest, "Sure, I want Taylor Hall." When Chiarelli agrees, Shero quickly covers the phone with his hand and says, "I should've asked for McDavid!" (It was funnier before I had to paraphrase it.)
Anyway, I remember that joke every time I remember that Paul Fenton actually intentionally traded Nino Niederreiter for Victor Rask. How hard do you think it was for the actual Hurricanes office to not start laughing until after they'd hung up or muted their end of the call?
Rieder, Lucic score against former team as Flames beat Oilers | Sportsnet.ca
Forget playing on Connor McDavid's wing. Apparently all it took to make Milan Lucic able to score goals again was getting the heck out of Dodge Edmonton.
Crosby leaves preseason finale with apparent foot injury | ProHockeyTalk
I saw Sullivan's quote about how both Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust had been "hit with shots" (thanks bud, very informative) on Twitter devoid of any location-related context--at least it wasn't the head. Also, I see that changing rinks still hasn't been enough to break the Penguins' injury curse.
Back home: a weekend at the PWHPA’s Unifor Showcase in Toronto | The Ice Garden
The Dream Gap Tour honestly just sounds like such a great experience for everyone--players, fans, kids who are ready to become fans, everyone. If only they could do something like this while, y'know, getting paid to play hockey.
