The Predators were robbed on Saturday by poor officiating. Oddly enough, the last time Nashville played the Oilers, they were the victim of countless Edmonton power plays. Let’s get the pendulum to swing our way, please?
Saturday’s game was quite frustrating...there’s no other way to describe it. The last time the Predators were in Edmonton, they were in the penalty box more often than not because of Leon Drasaitl’s flopping and diving. Edmonton’s power play wrecked any Nashville momentum.
Based on Sunday’s practice lines, the Predators will be icing the same lineup from Saturday evening. Yannick Weber and Korbinian Holzer will likely be scratched, along with Austin Watson. The Predators fought fairly hard in the third period against Colorado, and Calle Jarnkrok scored a goal with very little time remaining in the game. This Nashville team has a bit of fight these days. Let’s get some wins to go with this new attitude.
The Oilers have the League’s top goal scorer, Leon Draisaitl. They also have some guy named Connor McDavid...he seems pretty good, too.
Edmonton acquired Andreas Anthanasiou and Mike Green at the trade deadline last week. Tyler Ennis was also acquired. Anthanasiou has been injured, but he was able to make an immediate impact with Ennis and McDavid.
Obviously, the Predators are going to have to watch out for #29 and #97. Two points are crucial here, and Edmonton would like those points as much as Nashville would.
Reasons to Watch
- Is Korbinian Holzer even real?
- Pekka or Juuse?
- I’m not sure what else you’re doing on a Monday night...except sleeping.
