* may be out of print

[Sports] The Final Call - Kerry Fraser - A fantastic look at hockey from the referee’s perspective by one of most respected of zebras.

[Star Trek] The Price of the Phoenix* - Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath - One of my favorite books. It extrapolates what a bad guy might do with the technology from “The Enemy Within”. One of the best examples of soul-to-soul friendship.

[Star Trek] The Wounded Sky* - Diane Duane - A great sci-fi story set in the Star Trek universe. The book stands on its own, but if you read it, DM me and I’ll share the secret.

[Horror] 11/22/63 - Stephen King - One of my favorites from the master. It’s not really scary, but it is an immersive experience like no other.

[Fantasy] Dragonquest - Anne McCaffrey - If you love fantasy, the Dragonrider universe is a fantastic place to hang out. This book started it all.

[Sci-Fi] Dune - Frank Herbert - I read this book at 13. Not an easy read, but it opened up the science fiction world for me. If you’ve seen the movie, delete that from your mind and start fresh—you won’t regret it.

[Romance] In The Garden Trilogy - Nora Roberts - The undisputed Queen of Romance loves to write trilogies and quartets. Let this one inspire your gardening efforts this year.

[Non-Fiction] 32 Yolks - Eric Ripert - The early life and training of the master chef.

[Fiction] Outlander - Diana Gabaldon - I haven’t watched the series. The books, starting with this one, are plenty good enough for me.
