Oh Pekka Rinne—you've been so close. The Preds had better come out of the gates with a fire lit under them next season. It's probably his last chance.

"16. Nashville Predators. A tough team to get a feel for long-term. I like their talent, I think they still have a chance to compete for a title, but I also wonder if they already missed their best opportunity." I certainly hope not—or those ticket prices better come down a bit.

[Fiction] The Godfather - Mario Puzo - I couldn’t put this book down. Also, I was so disappointed that Puzo hadn’t novelized the other Godfather movies. I do have a couple of his other books on my “to be read” shelves.
[Sports] My Toughest Faceoff - Brent Peterson - The former Nashville assistant and NHL players’ life and fight against Parkinson’s disease.
[Biography] Dancing on My Grave - Gelsey Kirkland* - The life of a prima ballerina is not all tutus and roses. Compelling look behind the scenes of the ballet.
[Star Trek] Spock’s World - Diane Duane* - A story that moves between a mystery on modern day Vulcan and the history of how the the Vulcan species evolved. Fantastic read.
[Sci-Fi] Stranger In A Strange Land - Robert Heinlein - While still thought-provoking today, in 1961 this book was considered risqué enough to be removed from many libraries. A science-fiction classic.
[Romance] The Next Always - Nora Roberts - Before Ree Drummond re-made Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Nora Roberts not only did the same thing in Boonesboro, Maryland—she wrote a few books about it. This is the first.
[Fantasy/Humor] A Spell for Chameleon - Piers Anthony - The first of the light and humorous Xanth series, it’s an enjoyable break from all things serious. Very punny!
[Horror] Salem’s Lot - Stephen King - Obviously King is my go-to horror writer. In this, one of his first, the town of Derry starts its walk on the dark side. I woke up looking for little boy vampires in my window for weeks! EEK!
