The Predators made non-playoff related news Wednesday morning, announcing the signing of forward Sean Malone, who skated in 58 games for the Rochester Americans of the AHL.
The one year, two-way deal is for $750,000 in the NHL and $100,000 in the AHL. Malone will likely spend next season bolstering the Milwaukee Admirals roster, as the team has several pending free agents that may or may not return (Author note: Freddy Gaudreau, you will never leave my heart).
Malone spent four years at Harvard (three of them alongside current Predator Colin Blackwell), and was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, Malone has appeared in only one NHL game for the Sabres in the 2016-17 season, with no goals or points.
Stay tuned, as always, as our very own Eric Dunay (@OnTheFutureOTF) will break down the signing in more depth this week.
