U.S.-based NHL players starting to receive COVID-19 vaccines | Sportsnet.ca
On the one hand, it would be very nice if essential workers were getting vaccinated with these apparent extra vaccines. On the other hand, NHL players a) spit while sitting on the benches and b) regularly scream joyfully into teammates' faces and angrily into opponents' faces, which means the urgent wish for a vaccine is, uh, relatable.

Tom Wilson suspended for 7 games | RMNB
Anyone else very disturbed by the Washington Capitals' assertion, and the NHL's agreement, that it is perfectly legal and normal for a player to "deliver hits on unsuspecting or vulnerable opponents"? It's...I mean, look at this.
Through no fault of his own, [Carlo is] unable to brace for contact, anticipate the hit, or protect himself in any way from Wilson who is approaching from outside his field of vision.
It is important to note that we agree with the Capitals argument that at this point in the play, Wilson could deliver a hit on Carlo that does not result in supplemental discipline.
Yeah, yeah, the problem was that Wilson hit Carlo's head, and it would have been totally fine if he'd hit his shoulder, whatever--if a player is defenseless and unsuspecting, you have no idea how wrong the hit can go.
Tom Wilson suspended seven games for hit on Brandon Carlo | ProHockeyTalk
The weirdest thing about this is that three of Wilson's four previous suspensions were for hits in three different games against, of all teams, the St. Louis Blues. If I had to guess which single team Wilson had done the most headhunting against, I absolutely would have guessed the Pittsbirgh Penguins (that's the fourth suspension), or maybe the Philadelphia Flyers, not...a Western Conference team.

The hotel filed for bankruptcy and shut down with no notice in the middle of the Knights' road trip. The players had to pack up and leave. This season keeps getting weirder.
