Arizona Coyotes vs. Nashville Predators Game 1 Preview: And We’re Back

This afternoon the Nashville Predators (6) begin their play-in series against the Arizona Coyotes (11). Over the last few weeks, we writers here at On The Forecheck have covered everything you need to know about this series, so be sure to check out the following articles:

Both the Predators and Coyotes played their respective warm-up games on Thursday night. While the Predators handled the Stars and ended the day with a 2-0 win, there was concern about Viktor Arvidsson’s health. It looked like the forward was the recipient of a nasty knee-on-knee hit, but he returned to the game and appears to be ready to play today.

The Coyotes, on the other hand, were not as lucky. In their game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Vegas forward Ryan Reaves delivered a vicious elbow to the head of Arizona’s Nick Schmaltz.

There’s not a lot of word yet if Schmaltz will participate in today’s game or not. It would not be a far leap to guess he could be concussed, in which case his season very well could be done.

Reasons to Watch:

  1. Keep it simple, stupid: after five months, hockey is back.
  2. Oh, postseason hockey is back too.
  3. This postseason hockey includes the Predators.

Sights and Sounds:

The puck drops at 1:00 CT in the Edmonton bubble. You can catch the game on FS-TN or at 102.5 if you’ll be listening on the radio.
