Calle Järnkrok Named NHL’s First Star of the Week
Järnkrok is the first Nashville Predator to be named a NHL Star of the Week this season.
Calle Järnkrok was named the NHL’s First Star of the Week on Monday afternoon. Järnkrok put up 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 4 games last week.

Our “Swedish army knife” helped the Predators post a 3-1-0 record last week. Also, per the NHL, “on March 15, Järnkrok tied a career high for assists and established a single-game best for points with 1-3—4 against the Lightning.”
The NHL is recognizing healthcare and first responder heroes this season alongside NHLers for “Star of the Week” honors. Dr. Alex Jahangir from Vanderbilt University Medical Center is paired with Järnkrok for “First Stars of the Week.” From the NHL: “Dr. Alex Jahangir is an orthopedic trauma surgeon and professor of orthopedic surgery at VUMC, where he serves as the director of the Division of Orthopedic Trauma as well as the executive medical director of the Vanderbilt Center for Trauma, Burn and Emergency Surgery.”
Connor McDavid is the Second Star of the Week and Mika Zibanejad is the Third Star of the Week.
This is the first time a Predator has appeared as a NHL Star of the Week this season. Congratulations, Calle! You’re first in our hearts, too.
