Calle Jarnkrok, Petter Granberg Arbitration Dates Set

The NHLPA announced on Tuesday afternoon the arbitration dates for restricted free agents and their teams have been set from July 20 to August 4 in Toronto.

Forward Calle Jarnkrok’s arbitration date is set for August 4 while defenseman Petter Granberg’s is scheduled for August 3.

That isn’t to say that both of the players’ cases will make it to arbitration, but stranger things have happened.

If you recall, last summer the Predators had both Colin Wilson and Craig Smith filed for arbitration. Wilson agreed to a four-year, $15.75 million contract before his actual arbitration hearing. Smith actually went through with the hearing but signed a five-year, $21.25 million contract before an arbitrator issued a verdict.

Jarnkrok, who scored 16 goals and added 14 helpers in 81 regular season games last season, played with a one-year, $735,000 contract. His qualifying offer is valued at $771,750, though he will command more than that and rightly so.

Granberg appeared in 27 games last season after being claimed off waivers from Toronto and had two assists in a Nashville sweater.
