Nashville Predators Call Up Colton Sissons

With the team short a pair of forwards last night in Edmonton, the Nashville Predators have called up one of their more promising forward prospects in Colton Sissons. After being taken in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft, Sissons put together an outstanding 2012-13 season to wrap up his junior career in Kelowna, and has enjoyed a successful debut as a professional this season in Milwaukee, where he has been one of the Admirals’ top players.

From the Predators’ statement:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Colton Sissons (@colton_es15) from Milwaukee (AHL).

Sissons, 20 (11/5/93), paces the Admirals in goals and points (16g-12a-28pts), in addition to being tied for second among all AHL skaters in game-winning goals (5) during his first professional season, and was one of three rookies named to the 2014 AHL All-Star Team earlier this month. The 6-1, 189-pound native of North Vancouver, B.C., was Nashville’s second choice, 50th overall (second round), in the 2012 Entry Draft and spent the previous three seasons (2010-13) with the Kelowna Rockets, amassing 149 points (71g-79a) and 162 penalty minutes in 182 Western Hockey League games.
