Colton Sissons recalled by Nashville Predators

As expected when he was held out from Milwaukee's games this weekend, Colton Sissons has been called up to the Nashville Predators.

The move comes in the wake of an injury to Paul Gaustad, who was injured in Saturday's game against Colorado and hardly saw any time in the final period.

Fresh off a new two-year contract, Sissons will be making his second appearance with Nashville this year. The fourth line was noticeably more effective when he was skating on it, and putting Austin Watson and Mikkaa Salomaki on his wings not only provides fans with a glimpse of the future, but it makes Nashville's roster even more young and skilled.

That'll take a few shifts to get used to. I was quite partial to 84, myself. Say what you will about the end of Martin Erat's tenure as a Pred, that's still a number that has a lot of history. Big shoes to fill, kid.

Nashville, Tenn. (March 7, 2016) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Monday that the club has recalled forward Colton Sissons from Milwaukee (AHL).

Sissons, 22 (11/5/93), has appeared in 19 games for the Predators in 2015-16, notching a pair of points (1g-1a) and a 59 percent success rate in the face-off circle, best among all NHLers taking at least 100 draws. He has also served as the youngest captain in Milwaukee Admirals history this season, amassing 19 points (8g-11a) in 38 games. Now in his third professional season, the North Vancouver, B.C., native has six points (2g-4a) in 36 career NHL games.
