Filip Forsberg breaks Nashville Predators rookie goal record

Filip Forsberg did it again.

Three minutes and 38 seconds into the second period of Thursday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, Forsberg scored his 19th goal of the season, which sets a new franchise record. He passed Alexander Radulov for most goals scored by a rookie in a single season.

The power play goal gave him two points on the night and 50 on the season. It’s the second time this season the Swedish Kid broke a record previously held by Radulov. He’s currently on a 29-goal pace for the year, but if he keeps shooting, he may break another franchise record. You know, the big one that Jason Arnott still holds.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: don’t take this kid for granted. This player and this season are truly something special to watch. It’s too bad many of you weren’t able to witness this one in real team. No matter, there will be plenty more goal scored by Prince Filip.

Want Forsberg’s season summed up in a single GIF? Take it away, Donna Reed.
