Filip Forsberg saves empty net goal with amazing defensive play

With Pekka Rinne pulled in the third period of a 4-3 game against the New York Islanders, Ryan Strome had a clear path to score an empty net goal.

Filip Forsberg had other ideas. The Swedish winger used his ridiculous speed to catch up to Strome, and stole the puck away saving a goal in the process.

Ultimately, it wouldn’t matter as the Isles would hang on to win. But in a one-goal game when the team is doing everything they can to tie that game, that’s exactly what you want to see from one of the best players on the ice. No quit, play to the final horn.
