Preview: Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars 3/30/21: Marching On

Nashville Predators

The Predators announced on Monday that Kasimir Kaskisuo will return to the practice squad. This is good news and suggests that Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne are both in game shape for tonight’s contest. All three Finns are healthy at this time.

Filip Forsberg’s status hasn’t been specified, however. He didn’t play in either game against the Blackhawks. Matt Duchene, Ryan Ellis, Luca Sbisa, and Mark Borowiecki remain injured and unavailable.

Eeli Tolvanen has been hot lately…keep your eyes on Tolvanen, as well as the “Herd Line” of Colton Sissons, Matheiu Olivier, and Yakov Trenin. Quietly, Alexandre Carrier has also been putting a quality defensive product on the ice for Nashville. He’s not flashy, nor will he ever be flashy…but that’s exactly what the blue line needs.

Dallas Stars

The Stars are 11-12-9. The Predators haven’t played well against Dallas this season. Nashville’s last road trip began and ended with shootout wins against the Stars, but the Predators dropped two games against Dallas early in the season and those games were ugly.

Joe Pavelski still leads the Stars in points with 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists.) Roope Hintz has 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists). John Klingberg leads Stars defenders with 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists).

Jake Oettinger has a .909 Sv% over 14 games. Anton Khudobin has a .907 Sv% in 18 games.

Reasons to Watch

  • Let’s make it 6 wins in a row!!!
  • Y’all know I love goalies…I’m looking forward to seeing Jake Oettinger in action. The Stars seem to use Anton Khudobin against the Predators a lot…will Oettinger get to face the boys in gold?
  • Eeli Tolvanen for Calder? Is it too soon? Could it happen?
  • Joe Pavelski, one of the many “Old Guys Without a Cup”/
