Preview: Nashville Predators vs. Detroit Red Wings 4/8/21: I’m Not Your Friend

Nashville Predators

After a shootout victory, the Preds are looking for two more points tonight. I’m hoping we can see that in a decisive manner instead of a shootout, but a win is a win. The Predators are 4-0 in shootouts this season.

Injuries continue to take a toll on this team. I’m hoping the injury bug leaves us alone as we continue into April. We could see Viktor Arvidsson and Luke Kunin tonight, but Dante Fabbro is unlikely.

Juuse Saros has been incredible over the last few weeks. Saros has been one of the NHL’s top netminders over the last month or so and he’s not getting enough attention for that turnaround. Check out this tweet from our very own Bryan Bastin:

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings are probably pretty upset about the “Ryan Slowhansen” shootout goal on Tuesday evening.

Keep your eyes on Adam Erne. Our friends at Winging It in Motown note that he’s been tearing up the scoresheet lately, and that’s the truth.

Further, we might see Jonathan Bernier back in net for the Wings. Thomas Greiss hasn’t been awful for the Red Wings, but I think they’d want Bernier instead.

Reasons to Watch

-More Eeli Tolvanen goals.

-More Juuse Saros “Big Finn Goalie” energy.

-The Predators need a clean, decisive victory tonight against Detroit before facing the Lightning on Saturday. Confidence from a win tonight can only help against the powerhouse defending Cup champions.
