After a nail-biting finish to Tuesday night’s game, the Nashville Predators look to continue to do things right. The Chicago Blackhawks are fellow passengers on the struggle bus, but that doesn’t mean the Preds should write them off.

Connor Bedard is doing more or less everything the Hawks could have hoped when they drafted him, with a team-leading 27 assists and 39 points. Teuvo Teräväinen has also been reliable, combining strong offensive production with almost no penalties — even though Chicago has effective special teams, there’s no reason to tempt fate.

Tyler Bertuzzi is the goalscoring leader with 14, and Ryan Donato is in second with 13, but the offense overall is spread fairly thin, with most of the better players having around that many goals and the rest of the players also having some goals. Scoring has been a challenge for the Hawks, as has goaltending — Petr Mrázek and Arvid Söderblöm aren’t having the best seasons, but they’re also not getting help.
