Game Preview: Nashville Predators vs Colorado Avalanche 4/14/23

The Nashville Predators take on the Colorado Avalanche tonight in the final game of the season. The Avalanche need a win tonight to overtake the Dallas Stars for first in the Central and a chance to play the Seattle Kraken instead of the Minnesota Wild, while the Preds are, well, they’re here–and we’ll probably see more of the team’s young guns making their best case possible for next season.

The Avs have not slowed down at all as the season has continued. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen both have over a hundred points, while the team has won eight of its last ten games. The recent news that captain Gabe Landeskog will not be back for the playoffs may discourage them, but it may also inspire them.

The Preds are tied in points with the playoff-bound Florida Panthers and are unable to obtain any lottery pick by a loss tonight. This game is functionally meaningless, unless you have strong opinions about who you’d like to see Colorado play in the postseason, but boy it would be neat if the Preds won it anyway.

How to Watch

The game airs at 7PM Central/8PM Eastern on Bally Sports South and 102.5 The Game.
