Being in the same company as Jack Eichel has got to feel pretty good for the 2012 3rd round pick.
The award is given annually to the top NCAA player who "best exhibits strength of character both on and off the ice and contributes to the integrity of the team and displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game." Previous winners include Paul Kariya, Ryan Miller, Johnny Gaudreau and another former Predators in Blake Geoffrion.
The winner will be announced in Boston on April 10th.
Vesey has been in the news recently as he decided to stay at Harvard University for his senior year of college. Predators fans hoping for him to make the jump to the NHL (which he apparently may be ready for) will have to wait a little longer. If Vesey is not signed with Nashville by August 15th of next summer, he'll be eligible to sign anywhere as a free agent.
Very excited to be returning to @Harvard_Hockeyhttps://twitter.com/Harvard_Hockey">@Harvard_Hockey> this fall for my senior season. Can't wait to see what the boys can accomplish next year!!

The Predators will cross that bridge when they get to it, however. It's hard to blame a young man for wanting to finish a Harvard education. Vesey led the Crimson with 58 points (32 of them goals) in 37 games this year, and it will only benefit his development to play for another season.
