Monday’s Dump & Chase: North Dakota?

Could North Dakota be an NHL location if 2019-20 season resumes?

I, for one, welcome our University of North Dakota overlords. The barn up there is a great place to watch a hockey game, if travel is possible whenever the NHL would resume.

It Worked Out In The End For Carson Meyer

Or, as college hockey fans know him, “tapeworm guy” (yes, he got one from eating food while playing at Miami of Ohio.  He transferred to Ohio State the following summer).

After three seasons with Alaska, Martinsson to play goal as graduate transfer at Providence in 2020-21

This is a really nice move. Martinsson put up some solid numbers for Alaska with a .919 save percentage. The Friars of Providence are lucky to grab him.

Also, if the NHL is considering playing games in North Dakota, they should absolutely consider games in Alaska. There are two Division One programs who really need the resources that the NHL could offer, as both Alaska and Alaska-Anchorage will be without a conference after next season.

Michigan Tech goalie Beydoun to play at Wisconsin for ’20-21 season as graduate transfer

I’m not convinced this is a huge move for Wisconsin. Sure, they need goaltending help, but Beydoun was a backup for Michigan Tech. He could be lit up in the high-flying Big Ten.

College hockey awards: Hobey Baker 2020 Hat Trick finalists announced

North Dakota standout Jordan Kawaguchi has the funniest bullet point. Each of the finalists has their major listed in an academic-centric bullet point, but his marketing major is just tacked on to his stat of having 15 multi-point games.

Coronavirus: Milton Keynes ice rink to be temporary mortuary

Stay safe, stay inside. Don’t be an idiot; there are plenty of hockey writers like me with enough stupidity for all of us (I picked the Flyers to win the Metro last season).
