The Week Ahead

Nashville Predators News

Filip Forsberg, James Neal Heating Up for the Preds
At some point I’d like to run an analysis on the notion of a “streaky” goal scorer. Not exactly sure how it would work, but I feel like there are some misconceptions to explore. Like maybe a lot of our labels of consistent goal scorer vs. streaky goal scorer are more subjective than we think.

We talked about this on the Predcast. The final game score was a blowout, but the game itself really wasn’t. Sabres’ Captain Gionta Takes Responsibility
Gionta blames himself for the team losing back to back games against the Devils, but the Sabres were without Eichel, O’Reilly, Ennis, and two starting defensemen. This is what it means to wear the “C” for the Buffalo Sabres.

Michal Neuvirth out 4-6 weeks with lower-body injury
That’s too bad for Neuvirth, but honestly the Flyers need some stability in goal. Maybe this will force Hakstol to stick with Mason for the time being, even though he has been shaky.

Huh. I thought Hal Gill had retired.
