Notable hits:
- For the first time in history, all five Minnesota schools (University of Minnesota, St. Cloud State, Bemidji State, University of Minnesota-Duluth, and Minnesota State) qualified for the tournament. In a theoretical world, there could be an all-Minnesota Frozen Four.
- Notre Dame controversially sneaks in as the last at-large bid. I’m of the opinion Providence deserved the spot more. I don’t think Notre Dame did anything of note this season to deserve a bid.
- Minnesota State, after being upset in the WCHA tournament, dropped from a lock of a #1 seed to a #2 seed. They are potentially the scariest #2 seed in recent memory./
