Predators to Play in 2020 Winter Classic

Today, the NHL announced that the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars will face off in the 2020 Winter Classic.

The puck will drop at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on New Year’s Day. The Stars will be the home squad, but Predators fans everywhere are thrilled that their team has finally scored an outdoor game.

There will be an Outdoor Classic jersey released for both teams around November of this year. Dallas is a Central Division opponent. Both teams are located in non-traditional, yet highly successful markets. The Stars have an all-star team featuring Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, Ben Bishop, Alexander Radulov, and youngster Miro Heiskanen.

Hosting an outdoor game in Nashville remains an ultimate goal, but Predators fans have to be thrilled that their boys in gold will suit up on New Year’s Day in the famous Cotton Bowl.

Side note: Dallas is a reasonable drive from Nashville (10-ish hours) and it’s guaranteed that there will be plenty of gold in the crowd at the 2020 Winter Classic.
