Nashville Predators News: Filip Forsberg Recalled From Milwaukee, Taylor Beck Sent Down

Having played four games for the Milwaukee Admirals over the last week, forward Filip Forsberg has now been recalled by the Nashville Predators, with Taylor Beck heading in the opposite direction after getting to play in a pair of games for the Preds.

Forsberg was sent to Milwaukee last Thursday in a bid to get him more ice time, but given his propensity to drive the puck on net, perhaps it’s at the NHL level where he should be getting more work.

Now through Monday November 18 2013, Shop.NHL.com is running a sale, slashing prices on sweatshirts & jackets by 15-40%!

Will this prove the cure for an offensive attack which is sputtering these days? That’s a bit much to ask of the rookie, but it will depend on which player he replaces in the lineup. Forsberg-for-Beck may not be that much of an instant offensive upgrade, so it’s a bit of a bummer to see Beck heading to Milwaukee. Forsberg-for-[GRIT PLAYER] would presumably help a bit more.

Here’s an excerpt from the team’s statement:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Filip Forsberg from Milwaukee (AHL) and assigned forward Taylor Beck to the Admirals.

Forsberg, 19 (8/13/94), posted six points (1g-5a) during a four-game stint with Milwaukee, reaching the scoresheet in each game. The 6-1, 186-pound winger started the season with Nashville, amassing five points (1g-4a) in 11 games, including an assist in his most recent contest, a 6-4 victory over Colorado on Nov. 6. The Predators have posted an 8-2-1 record with the Ostervala, Sweden native in the lineup in 2013-14.
