Nashville Predators News: Taylor Beck Among Latest Roster Cuts
According to the NHL's media site, the Nashville Predators roster has been trimmed to 23 Active players, along with Viktor Stalberg being placed on Injured Reserve. The latest players cut include forward Taylor Beck, defenseman Joe Piskula and goaltender Marek Mazanec. Beck was considered by many to be among those players on the border line of making the team or not, but perhaps notching only one assist in four pre-season games undermined his cause. Of course, the fact that he could be sent to Milwaukee without having to clear waivers makes this move easier, too.
NOTE: The Predators website still lists Beck as being part of the roster, but I double-checked the NHL Media resource and it says he's not. So who knows.
NOTE 2 (9/29/13 10:00 a.m.): Now the Preds have confirmed that Beck, Mazanec and Piskula are headed to Milwaukee. Simon Moser is still listed as attending camp on his tryout, so his situation is still up in the air.
Notably, Filip Forsberg appears to have made the Opening Night roster, along with fellow teenager Seth Jones.
