Preds Pets: The offseason is going to the dogs

It’s the middle of July, offseason content is getting ruff and I’m in a hairy situation—you’re right, these are all terrible dog puns, but heel… I mean, stick with me, y’all.

It’s been a little more than two weeks since Matt Duchene signed with the Preds, bringing with him his wife Ashley and young son Beau.

However, Duchene isn’t the only guy in the family who got a new team.

While Music City is already showing Duchene love in the form of a meet and greet with country singer Morgan Wallen and Duchene’s son Beau decked out in Nashville Predators gear, the family’s most important four-legged furry friend is also getting a warm welcome.

Paisley

Also known as @PaisleytheBrittany on Instagram for all you dog-lovers, Paisley is a VIP (very important pup), if you couldn’t tell by his instagram.

The 7-year-old Brittany Spaniel joins a growing list of NHL dogs with their own Instagram accounts—this is the content we asked for.

Five Predators pups, including team dog Smash, are already social media stars, commanding likes on the picture platform.

Paisley’s mom Ashley who runs the account (dogs don’t have thumbs, you know) describes the good boy as a pup who loves squirrels and puppuccinos. Relatable.

The Brittany Spaniel’s account is very active, giving and inside look at his daily life between traveling with his paw-rents and hanging out with his baby brother.

Paisley is a very supportive, good boy.

He also has nine built-in best buddies, eight with their own Instagram accounts, in Smashville.

Here’s a look at Paisley’s new teammates he can lace up with this upcoming season:

Kingsley and Bella

The captain’s fur-kids.

The pups belonging to Roman Josi and Ellie Ottaway are described in their Instagram bio as “Siblings, adventurers, snugglers, droolers, troublemakers, the best team ever!”

These two friendly fur-balls look like they’re quite the Mr. and Ms. Congeniality with their puppy-pal adventures.

You can follow them at @Kingstagram_Bella

Tula Smith

Also known as @Tula.The.Mini.Golden, this little beauty belongs to Craig Smith and his wife Aleah.

According to her Instagram account, she just turned 1 on July 2.

Her bio says she loves ‘belly rubs, long naps, and her paw-rents’—a statement we can… mostly relate to (I’m out on the belly rubs).

June and Willow

These world traveling AKC Siberian Huskies are certified Instagram dog models — actually, they’re not, but they should be. Look at the poses.

Their parents Yannick Weber and Kayla Price are such dog lovers that the proceeds for Weber’s charity, Weber’s Woof Pack, go toward the Nashville Humane Association. Membership for the Woof Pack comes with goodies for you and your fur-baby as well.

As for June and Willow, also known as @June_and_Willow on the ‘gram, they’re supportive pup-kids, shouting out the Woof Pack and looking good while doing it.

Pabla

The sweet, newest, Instagram-less member of the Preds puppy pals.

Pekka Rinne set social media ablaze when he walked into practice cradling his new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy Pabla in March.

The brick-wall, fan-favorite goalie hasn’t shared much about Pabla’s life—please, Pekka, give Pabla the Instagram account that sweet face deserves—but I’m sure she gets plenty of playtime with her teammates.

Doug and Dozer

The bulldog brothers belonging to Ryan Johansen and Madison Bell are arguably the most popular Preds puppy duo in Smashville.

They have their own bobblehead (with their dad, of course) and their own stuffed toys.

The duo known on Instagram as @Doug_and_Dozer are big fans of swimming, napping (both with and without Joey), and wearing Preds gear.

Their DMs are open for tug-of-war according to their bio, so slide on in, puppy parents.

Lord Banner of Smashville

Also known as Smash.

The Preds joined the highly popular, fan-approved trend of adopting a team puppy.

Nashville adopted this good boy when he was three months old in February, introducing Lord Banner to his ice kingdom on Valentines day—true love.

Smash is also a team player. He’s a member of Yannick Weber’s Woof Pack.

You can follow his adventures on Instagram at @PredsPup.

Paisley is sure to fit right in once summer ends and hockey begins.

With another addition to the NHL dog Instagram list, I’m hoping this means playdates captured on social media and more players starting accounts for their dogs.

The offseason can drag by, but it’s not so bad when you’ve got a cute dog to stare at.

Keep it up, everyone. You’re doing great.
