Nashville Selects Forward Juuso Pärssinen 210th Overall
The Finn was one of our hopes for the Preds earlier in this draft and has definite potential.
With the 179th pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, the Nashville Predators selected forward Juuso Pärssinen of TPS in the Finnish Liiga. Unless they make another trade, that will be their last pick of the day.
Pärssinen was ranked 33rd among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting and had 22 points, 13 of them goals, in 36 games played in 2018-19.
Here’s what Eric wrote about him as a possible fifth-round pick for the Preds:
Pärssinen is a strong player down the middle of the ice and good at keeping puck battles in the circles after losing face-offs. [...] Pärssinen’s skating and awareness will translate well to an NHL penalty kill. I don’t think he has the tools to be an above-average player inside the face-off dots, but his game is sound overall.
We’ll have more on the Preds’ drafting this weekend and the new faces we’ll be seeing in Milwaukee going into the start of next week! Thank you for following along with us.
