Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks Preview: Preds Fly Together

Road trip time.

Nashville Predators

Well, practice for the Predators was a snappy and upbeat affair on Monday. Viktor Arvidsson was missing from practice, but the team has made no announcements about an injury. I’d expect him to play unless we see something from the team today.

The Predators are a known quantity to us OTFers by now. The 30th-best power play has seen a bit of new life recently thanks to Brian Boyle, but the Predators have been maddeningly inconsistent over their last several games.

It’s now or never if the Predators are going to find their groove before the playoffs. They’ve split their last two contests with Anaheim this season, winning in Nashville in a 5-2 decision in November.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have had a rough season. Head coach Randy Carlyle was relieved of his duties in early February. He’s been replaced by Bob Murray…Anaheim’s GM. What a time to be a Duck.

The Ducks are second-to-last in the Pacific Division with a 27-34-9 record. The Ducks have been all over the place lately, recently routing the Canadiens but dropping the next game to the Kings.

Ryan Getzlaf leads the Ducks in points with 40 (11 goals, 29 assists). Adam Henrique has 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) and newly re-signed Jakob Silfverberg has 31 points (19 goals, 12 assists). Hampus Lindholm leads Anaheim defenders with 24 points (5 goals, 19 assists).

Due to various injuries, Anaheim has had to ice three different goalies this season. Starter  John Gibson has a .915 Sv% over 50 games played. Backup  Ryan Miller has a .924 Sv% in 16 games. Chad Johnson has skated in 9 games for the Ducks and he’s posted a .872 Sv%.

Memories and Feelings

  • Who will Corey Perry try to troll tonight?
  • Will Ryan Kesler pay for Ryan Johansen’s parking?
  • Remember when Ryan Getzlaf had hair?/

Reasons to Watch
